| Center for Minority Issues (CMI) |
Center for Minority Issues is a non-governmental and non-profit interdisciplinary organization. It was founded by a group of ethnic communities’ leaders, researchers in the field of inter-ethnic relations and human rights protectors and was registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova in 2001.
CMI is concerned with the promotion, implementation and evaluation of universal, regional, bilateral and national standards that may assist in consolidating democratic governance on the basis of ethnic diversity and human rights. The area of CMI interest also relates to implementation procedures and mechanisms for such standards and the study of their effectiveness. It conducts practice-oriented research, provides information and documentation, and offers expert and advisory services concerning inter-ethnic relations in Moldova.
